Prince's Purple Rain is a song that has been seared into the consciousness of a generation. The song, the movie, the garish dress, the sex, the anguish, etc. And what does is all really mean? Frankly, it's pretty hard to say. The lyrics are mysterious and amorphic, and vague.
What in fact is "Purple Rain" anyway?
Perhaps in the end what we realize is that our connection to pop culture phenomena is driven by a personal kind of lust that exists within us, something intangible, and yet shared. The participants in this project share their dramatic interpretations of the lyrics to Purple Rain, via YouTube, and the videos are transformed into montage.
