'Untitled Montage' / 2008

This video was apart of my research for my thesis. The overall theme is a feminist take on the old conventions that women of the late 50s to early 60s lived by. I used a sarcastic tone to emulate the traditions of those old conventions into todays woman, with in the context of marriage. Moreover, women have obviously traveled light-years away from the yesteryears of oppression, but the reinforcement and teaching of traditional roles with in society is carried on from generation to generation. There is a residue that is contingent to this practice and it also ties into advertising. All of the footage has been synthesized. Most of the footage captured was from hours of recording television commercials of household cleaning products and childcare products, in which mostly every case was a mother like woman promoting the goods.
Appropriated footage used.
NFS.

'Socio-Poetic Scratching' / 2008

This video is entirely experimental and I consider it a work in progress.
This project began the series of 'Socio-Poetic Scratching' where appropriated footage
is captured, reduced in edit and finalized as a brand new story of images and audio,
then returned to the interwebs from whence it came. The videos in this collection are
based on process and the de-construction of context.

'Idealized is Not Realized2007
(Animation from installation)

Inspired from the 'Wiggs' project, this installation further explored stereotypes in society; particularly women.
I focused on the restraining ideology behind the bra. This installation included scan's from a 60's Playtex bra box.
Two were manipulated and one was made into an animation (like below).
